IRC Friday?
CloudOpen and LinuxCon are pretty much consuming all of my available
cycles this week. Do we have a volunteer to moderate this week's IRC
meeting on Friday? Several of us are either traveling or attending the
LF event, but I think consistency is important, so I'd rather not
abandon the meeting if we're finding it useful.
Next week I'll be back in my home office and will be able to moderate
and such.
Also - if anyone has agenda items, please send on. Thanks!

I'd like for us to start generating at least a source RC - just to
start getting the process down and documented. That appears to be a
non-trivial process piece.
We still need documentation describing how to build from source.
We still need to get rid of binaries.
Like Joe I am traveling this week, and I'll be unable to make it.

John,
Second week in a row, but I'm going to have to miss the IRC meeting.
My update is that (1) I'd love if someone else would take an
opportunity to help audit the LICENSE and NOTICE file for
completeness, and (2) I will be willing to attempt to follow the ASF
release build process for us on Tuesday... but I'm not going to be
able to do it on Friday (as Ewan's proposed schedule noted).

I'm happy to moderate again - shall we shoot for the same time, same place?
I'd ask people to send any agenda items to me directly.

Well, Friday 19:00 is just a problem, that's normally the time when you
start to attend to your social life :)
We might move to Wednesday every two weeks or Thursday?
I know that going earlier then 19:00 (my time) would be hard since it's
just 10:00 at that point on the West-Coast.
I'd also vote for maybe a bit later, since around 19:00 I'd still be
having dinner. Maybe 21:00?

Writing up an email about that process right now actually.

+1 on branching now.

Another agenda item:

My take on things is that we have to draw a line in the sand somewhere
- might as well be now.
There are (IMO) still things that need to be fixed (still a ton of
binaries present in our source tree for instance)

I will try to attend IRC meeting today but just in case if I couldn't make it, can you discuss rough timeline for RC Candidate drop.
Looks like it definitely will not be today so need next best estimate.
Thanks

John,
Here's my list of agenda items.
- Is the branch stable enough now to rebranch 4.0 from master?
- Who's doing a sanity test of the 4.0 before handing it off to Sudha for a complete QA test cycle?
Thanks.

I was running meetbot via my laptop, so... we need a way to have it
running 24/7, I agree.

What time do you propose?

It's certainly a problem. People insist on sleeping and that just slows
everything down.
Anyway - it was never my intent that we lock in a single time. For this
week it might be easier to stick with the same time, but I'm happy to do
a different time next week and then rotate.
Best,
Joe

Do we have meetbot set up already? Last week it wasn't there.
Like I said earlier, Friday 19:00 (my time) is not working out that
great, so I'd rather rotate on weekly basis.
I know the big time difference between the West-Coast and Europe is the
problem.

I think we have to discuss where we are with 4.0 and if we're ready to
release RC1 tomorrow.
Blockers? Issues?
