   1.Extract duplicated range validation in _TextStringBuilder_ into a new private helper _validateRange()_ .
   
   2.Extract duplicated logic into _calculateCost()_ and reuse it.
   
   - [X] Run a successful build using the default [Maven](https://maven.apache.org/) goal with `mvn`; that's `mvn` on the command line by itself.
