As described on http://jmeter.apache.org/mail2.html#JMeterDev to 
unsubscribe from the dev list you have to send a mail to 
dev-unsubscribe@jmeter.apache.org from the address you used to subscribe.

Regarding code, note that since that note we have started increase
coverage, introduced spock and migrate partly to junit 4 but there is much
room for improvement so your help is very welcome
