[PR] Restore maven archetypes for JavaEE 5 and J2EE 1.4 projects [netbeans]
matthiasblaesing opened a new pull request, #7407:

They were commented out when updating for JavaEE/JakartaEE 8 and it can't be reconstructed why.
As the author speculated, that this was an accident, revert it.

you didn't want me to implement it so I didn't. I haven't tested if the 1.4 template still works since NB doesn't support that JDK anymore.

@mbien DON'T! From my POV going from "fix faulty PR when introducing support for JavaEE8" to rip out random parts of JavaEE support is an overreaction.
The baseline question is: What do you define as "JavaEE/J2SE support"? The ability to generate a maven project for it? The ability to generate an ant project for it. The ability to parse the deployment descriptors?

i can do this next week. Lets remove everything below EE 8, I checked wikipedia and J2EE was synced with the java release in early days, so J2EE 1.4 actually means Java SE 1.4.
Jakarta/Java EE 8 would be the lowest release NB realistically could still "support".

J2EE 1.4 is 25 years old (1999?). Can anything still run this today? I am just a bit worried that this will spawn more bug reports for software nobody is supporting anymore.
