Fwd: Apache Big Data Europe 2016: Talk accepted!

I will be giving an Intro to Pirk talk at ApacheCon - see below. I will
tweet it out on @ApachePirk in a couple of weeks. Are any other committers

Hi Ellison Anne Williams,

Congratulations, and welcome to Apache: Big Data Europe! Your submission,
"Scalable Private Information Retrieval äóî Introducing Apache Pirk
(incubating)", has been accepted. We are thrilled to have you present at
the conference taking place November 14-16, 2016 at the Melia Sevilla in
Seville, Spain. We ask that you please review the information below
regarding your session and complete all required items to confirm your
speaking engagement.

To confirm that you will be presenting, please register as a speaker by
Friday, October 14th. Please select “Speaker Registration” and use the
access code: ABDSPK16
https://www.regonline.com/register/checkin.aspx?EventId=1844439

In the instance that your submission has multiple presenters, only the
primary speaker for a proposal will receive a complimentary pass for the
event. Additional speakers will receive 20% off the registration fee.
Please ask additional speakers to register as an “Attendee” and in the
discount code box use code: ABD2SPK16. For panel discussions, all panelists
will receive a complimentary event pass.

If you are not registered by Friday, October 14, there is a possibility
that your speaking slot will be replaced by a session on our waiting list,
so please register promptly.

The schedule will be live by October 3. You will receive an email directly
from sched.org (our online scheduler) asking you to create your account and
upload a photo.

If you have a conflict with the timing of your talk, or find that it
conflicts with another talk scheduled at the same time; or are having
problems uploading your bio and photo, please contact Jillian Hall (
jhall@linuxfoundation.org).

Hotel Reservations
We’ve negotiated a discounted room rate at the Melia Sevilla:
Melia Room*: 97.90EUR Single Occupancy / 108.90EUR Double Occupancy
*Room rate includes VAT

The room rates listed above include high speed in-room internet and daily
breakfast at the hotel restaurant. To book your room at the discounted
rates, please click the link below. We encourage you to book early to

Slide Due Date
We will be contacting speakers as we get closer to the event but please
note that your presentation slides are due on Monday, October 31. These can
be submitted (in .PDF format only) through the CFP manager by logging into
the site here. As soon as you submit your slides, they will automatically
be available to view on the event website.

Technical Requirements
Each session room will include a screen, projector and 2 microphones. The
second mic will be used for questions, so make sure you leave time at the
end of your talk. All speakers will need to supply their own computer to
use during their sessions. If you require any additional AV, please contact
Jillian Hall (jhall@apache.org) with those needs by Monday, October 31.

If you require a visa letter, please register for the event, and then make
your request here.

submitted your request please do so as soon as possible. You can access the
