Thanks a lot. Looks like SCP works again. No worries, all data and apps are binaries we hold in SVN or other repos. So although it would require checking out from an older tag, everything would be replaceable if a VM was brought back clean;-)

Seems it was updated to 14.04.4 LTS. I just put up the one before in a DevOps project of mine, and remember there was also some SSH fumbling to do before it worked.
