[jira] [Created] (QPID-5806) It would be useful to allow formally illegal characters into selector identifiers

Andrew Stitcher created QPID-5806:
-------------------------------------

             Summary: It would be useful to allow formally illegal characters into selector identifiers
                 Key: QPID-5806
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-5806
             Project: Qpid
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: C++ Broker
    Affects Versions: 0.28
            Reporter: Andrew Stitcher
            Assignee: Andrew Stitcher

Since selector identifiers are mapped to header names you should be able to refer to any legal header name, currently the restricted character set of identifiers does not allow this.

For compatibility with the Java broker it makes sense to do this using double quotes.
