iOS statusBar -> color and fontSize

How can I change the color of the top status bar in flex mobile apps for iOS?
And why differs the font-size in the status-bar from other apps (it is
bigger and not really sharp)?

For the first Question I found out I can change the backgroundColor of the
ViewNavigatorApplication and set the Views backgroundColor to white.
So the statusBar has the ViewNavigatorApplications backgroundColor and the
content the Views backgoundColor.
Is there a better way to achive this?

And has anyone an idea how I can have the same StatusBar (font sizes, icon
sizes, ...) like in the systems app?
