Pig in Windows/Cygwin gives error when logs dir does not exist
--------------------------------------------------------------
Key: PIG-1882
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PIG-1882
Project: Pig
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 0.8.0
Environment: CYGWIN_NT-6.1-WOW64 1.7.8(0.236/5/3) 2011-03-01 09:36 i686
pig 0.8.0
java 1.6.0-18
Reporter: Alexander Lehmann
Priority: Minor
(This is the same issue as HADOOP-4606)
When running pig from Cygwin shell, you will get an error message if the logs dir doesn't exist.
When using cygpath -d, the directory has to exist, otherwise it cannot get the short path name, changing to -w works.
