[~olli] - I think we should keep building with JDK8 as it's a supported configuration for the commons.threads pool ( at least until we decide to drop Java 8 ).

Can you please revert or refine https://github.com/apache/sling-org-apache-sling-commons-threads/commit/cf1b4593eff946e14b8e909649915d9246a1787c so that we can also build on Jenkins with JDK8?
