[jira] Created: (HADOOP-85) a single client stuck in a loop blocks
all clients on same machine
a single client stuck in a loop blocks all clients on same machine
------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: HADOOP-85
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-85
Project: Hadoop
Type: Bug
Components: dfs
Versions: 0.1
Reporter: Yoram Arnon
I was running a set of clients, running cp from one dfs to another dfs using fuse, one file per cp process.
One client got stuck in a loop because of a bad block in one of the files (separate bug filed).
The other clients, running in parallel in the background, all stopped making progress on their respective files.

What is the failure mode? How does one client looping in client code
block the node? This is in the server, not in fuse, right?
