[license] use of angular / bootstrap / others

Hi,

i intend to start the dev of a ui for sling pipes, with limited time (there
is an issue for that but jira seems down). In case that ui is of interest
for the community i’d be happy to contribute it to sling. However, i
understood licenses might be an issue.

Short story: could i contribute code in extension contrib, using angular &
bootstrap?
Long ones : - Do we have somewhere a list of framework compatible with
apache license?
- should i just do a project with MIT license if i want to use those fwks?

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

short answer: MIT license and therefore bootstrap and angular are fine,
we can use that without problems.
Longer answer: http://www.apache.org/legal/resolved.html#faq gives a
list of usable and unusable licenses. Some might have a special
restriction like that the project wants to be mentioned in the readme or
something. Which is fine and we simply follow that.
