maven scm: Implementation of a push command?

Hello,

as nowadays DVCS systems are very popular, would it be a good idea to
implement something like scm:push?

A lot of months ago I talked with Mark about SCM.
DVCS is a complete other approach which doesn't really fit well in the  
current architecture.
It would be better to redesign it, but it is a huge codebase.
