- Checking out over http (as opposed to https) is open to anyone, but won't allow you to commit your changes. That's where patches come in, keep on reading!
+ Note that committers have to use [http://apache.org/dev/committers.html#commit-403 https] instead of http here, but http is fine for read-only access to the trunk code.
