@srowen Hey, thanks for the quick review. I did see background GC triggers that's why I have created a configuration param "spark.conf.GCOnIdle.enabled". this configuration gave improved performance from 3%-7% for a long running spark job. and I have tested same with page rank algorithm with 8 node spark cluster.
