[jira] Created: (IVY-414) ivy html reports still seem to refer to images on http://ivy.jayasoft.org

ivy html reports still seem to refer to images on http://ivy.jayasoft.org
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: IVY-414
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IVY-414
             Project: Ivy
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 1.4.1
            Reporter: John Gill

It seems that the ivy-report.xsl file still refers to various images at jayasoft and even though the URL is redirected to the incubator for ivy at apache, the images are not there either.

The images in question are:
* http://ivy.jayasoft.org/images/searched.gif
* http://ivy.jayasoft.org/images/downloaded.gif
* http://ivy.jayasoft.org/images/evicted.gif
* http://ivy.jayasoft.org/images/error.gif
* http://ivy.jayasoft.org/logo.png

Would it be possible to upload the images somewhere (or attach them to this issue) so I can download them and use a custom ivy-report.xsl. In addition, it would be good if the the ivy-report.xsl supplied with ivy refers to images that actually exist.

It might also be a good idea to make the images part of the ivy project in subversion so they can all be kept together (or maybe they already are and I can't find them).

The great day when ivy moves out of the incubators happened.
I have made a change in the xsl in order to reference ant.apache.org. But the issues should stay open because the complete fix should store the images in the jar and write them when the task is executed.

I agree that using internet resources in the report is not a very good thing. The idea to copy the images to the destination directory makes sense, it would avoid this kind of troubles.

So for the moment I've just added the logo at the good location to make older reports ok (well, I've just done a symlink directly to the images/logo.png). I leave the issue to open to fix it more appropriatly later.

I've added the images to the doc/images directory, and updated the site, so that they should be available at http://incubator.apache.org/ivy/images/ in about one hour.

Thanks Xavier.

There is still one minor problem regarding the ivy logo in the top right hand corner of the report. Because it is now located at http://incubator.apache.org/ivy/images/logo.png, the redirect from http://ivy.jayasoft.org/logo.png doesn't find it, so the logo is a broken image.

In addition, is the intent to change the URLs for the images in the xsl file in bundled with IVY to refer to http://incubator.apache.org/ivy/images/, and what happens on that great day when IVY moves out of the incubator and becomes a top level apache project?

I guess I am saying I am worried that the links will get broken again later, and what about all the old reports that were generated.

Here is another idea. Why not put the images with the generated reports (they are only small, and could go in an images directory under where the reports are generated)? That way, even if you have no internet connection, the report will show the images. In addition, if the images move (to another web site or whatever), old reports will still show them.

What do you think?
