I note that the source distribution contains the following file: imperius-cimsplclientsideprovider/customexpressions.properties which is not in the svn tag. The contents of this file are:

Re: [RESULT] Imperius 1.0.0 rc6

The artifacts need to be uploaded to the distribution apache server.
Take a look at the existing directory on people.apache.org:/www/www.apache.org/dist/incubator
. There are all the incubator projects that distribute code. I've
created a directory imperius under which you can upload the artifacts.
Try to stick to the naming conventions.

Then you'll want to make a link from the imperius site to the mirrored
artifacts. You might want to look at other incubator web sites for
examples. You must not refer directly to the artifacts on
www.apache.org but instead use the standard cgi script to allow the
user to pick a mirror.

than just putting a link on the web site (I suspect so)? Let me know and

I downloaded the Unix files, verified signatures, spot checked some files
for accuracy and built Imperius.

I noticed that your key has not been signed by anyone, although its not a
requirement, its nice to have.

+1 to release Imperius (binding)

I am not familiar with Apache guidelines, but I'll weigh in anyway. Given
that this is the first release of an incubator project, I think it may be
premature to put this out on maven.

Ok so my question is whether making all jars available on maven is
required for a apache release?

I am ok with not making any jar maven downloadable for the first
release.

The javaspl and cimspl distribution zip includes splcore.jar (along
with the license etc) which is what users would download I think this
satisfies Apache guidelines.

I don't want to drag this discussion too long if the community feels
all jars need to be maven downloadable I will spin another candidate.

Thanks

No. It has, however, become a defacto standard for sharing open source artifacts between projects. So, is very common.

This doesn't break any Apache guidelines or policies (at least not that I'm aware of). So, moving forward with the release is fine.

Thanks

IMO splcore has to be distributable in maven repo too, otherwise maven
users will have to download imperius splcore manually.

Applications are binary and runtime dependent of this jar.

splcore.jar holds the core language parser elements which are specific to
the SPL language. I do not see any
value in making it available on maven. The javaspl.jar and
cimsplclientsideprovider are jars that other projects could potentially
download and embed within their distribution.

Some remarks:

- In the zip/tar file we have a /log.txt file that should be removed.
- Inside the jars we have a /META-INF/maven that should be removed too.
- imperius-splcore-1.0.0.jar does not have NOTICE.txt and LICENSE.txt
- IMO, the lib/javaspl-samples-1.0.0.jar should be moved to
samples/lib/javaspl-samples-1.0.0.jar
- IMO, NOTICE.txt and LICENSE.txt files in jar files should lie in
META-INF folder.

Hi Neeraj,

You can forward the results to the full incubator. Meantime I'll try
to find time to check out the release.

I think this release will be of a lot of interest to the DMTF community.
