I'm sorry if this is quite sudden.

To build more specialized BSP-based machine learning community and
collaborate with existing ML project mahout, personally I think that
ML package need to be separated from core Hama (IMHO).

Yes, we could create a subproject, but that's usually discouraged.

It'd be ok to investigate this in our and maybe Mahout's community to see
if there's interest / opinions; I don't have a strong opinion myself right
now, as even here there's not been a huge interest in ML stuff (mostly me
and ThomasJ work plus some minor contributions).

However I think the basis of integrating with other Hadoop based projects
is YARN support to be fully working and stable.

Given the above I'd be happy to see this moving forward.
