A couple of simple question about SOAP
I am new to SOAP, and would like to see if any of you know the answer to these questions:
Does the SOAP Admin Tool generates any kinds of files when deploying a service?
Is the DeploymentDescriptor.xml file use during run-time? How does this file relates to the SOAP Admin Tool? Are they independent of each other?
Please educate me.

NO. It does not generate the DeploymentDescriptor.xml file. However, if you look at one of the ones in the example you'll see it isn't that
complex and pretty easy to write one.

The DeploymentDescriptor.xml file is used to configure the RPCRouter servlet so when it receives inbound SOAP requests it can look at the URN and
the method name to determine what kind of object to instantiate and which method to call. Once a service is deployed once you do not need the
DeploymentDescriptor unless you want to change the methods a service responds to or you deploy it to a new server. The first time you load the
RPCRouter servlet you'll see something about assuming a fresh start. That means it has not found a .ds file to tell it which services it should
offer. When you deploy the service it reads that xml and writes it to the .ds file.
You can do this with the web interface (i've never used that personally) or through the command line using the ServiceManagerClient
