errors running the newapp in Turbine

Hi,

In the newapp there is the possibility to add a new user to the list, but when i do this i get the page which simply says error. Does anything need to be done to catalina.bat (i added the JAVA_HOME).
When i made some changes to the upload.java and tried to do "../build-project compile" i got import errors. It requests the package ".om.rdf/rdfPeer" but there is no ".om" at all.

Did something go wrong building things?In the newapp.prop file i only changed the unix/sh to windows/bat.

Maarten

Don't edit anything, just follow the instructions
MySQL has been tested with Win2k and Linux
so you should have no problem. The instructions
are in the tdk-howto:

Why the heck are you trying to connect to MySQL using ODBC? Dude, use the mm
mysql driver and just connect to it directly on a socket.

This isn't a turbine problem, it is a configuration problem on your
end...you need to figure it out for yourself.

Still having the same problem (SocketExceptions). I now have MySql
(downloaded the latest version), and also download MyODBC. MySql is located
in the c:\mysql and this is my.ini:
************************************
[WinMySQLAdmin]
Server=C:/MYSQL/bin/mysqld-opt.exe
user=maarten
password=maarten

[mysqld]
basedir=C:/MYSQL
#bind-address=10.5.2.112
datadir=C:/MYSQL/data
#language=C:/MYSQL/share/your language directory
#slow query log#=
#tmpdir#=
#port=3306
#set-variable=key_buffer=16M
*************************************
tdk is located in c:\tdk but i think there is a problem with the
newapp.properties database settings:

databaseUrl = jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1/newapp
databaseDriver = org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver
databaseUser = maarten
databasePassword = maarten
databaseHost = 127.0.0.1

I tried several settings but probably just not the right one. Can anyone
help me?

Thanks,
Maarten

Thanks. What version of MySQL are you using? I think
i'll first attempt a proven solution. Any tips during
the installation of MySQL and changing .bat or prop
files for turbine.

SQL on Windows is not a fully supported combination. No one has really
tested this so you will have to do some debugging and get it working.
I test MySQL and Postgres on Linux, and I'm going to setup Oracle and
Sybase so I can test those as well. But I can't really help you
with anything Windows related. You are going to have to dig around.

I will add some notes about which platforms are supported. In
the TDK howto.

When i run the project-build init i get lots of stack-traces which throws
SocketExceptions. Hope someone has an idea because it's killing me. I assume
running a SQL Server local is needed and that you don't need to do anything
except run the build-project?

i took a look at the log files within newapp when running newapp and in the
velocity.log i get a lot of unable to find resource X in any resource
loader. For some reason the dir-structure gets mixed some .vm are in the
wrong dir. It also request for a VelocityErrorScreen.vm which can't be found
anywhere.

Same goes for the turbine.log. It looks for SQL and Upload:
Requested Action not found: SQL
Turbine looked in the following modules.packages path:
[org.mycompany.newapp.modules, org.apache.turbine.flux.modules,
org.apache.turbine.modules]
but these are located in the action-folder under
C:\tdk\webapps\newapp\WEB-INF\src\java\org\mycompany\newapp\modules\actions.

What am i doing wrong here.
Maarten

Hi,

In the newapp there is the possibility to add a new user to the list, but
when i do this i get the page which simply says error. Does anything need to
be done to catalina.bat (i added the JAVA_HOME).
When i made some changes to the upload.java and tried to do
"../build-project compile" i got import errors. It requests the package
".om.rdf/rdfPeer" but there is no ".om" at all.

Did something go wrong building things?In the newapp.prop file i only
changed the unix/sh to windows/bat.
