You can work directly with unicode in cqlsh:

cqlsh:ks1> CREATE TABLE foo (a int PRIMARY KEY, b text);
cqlsh:ks1> INSERT INTO foo (a, b) VALUES (0, 'ק ר ש');
cqlsh:ks1> SELECT * FROM foo;

 a | b
