I've already got a system property for specifying this; is it really that worthwhile to create a first-class CLI option for it?

The sysprop is:

-Dorg.apache.maven.user-settings=/path/to/settings.xml

and

-Dorg.apache.maven.global-settings=/path/to/global/settings.xml
