Repetitive requests - axd, aspx

I received several same http requests for a single page (pls see attached):

1)	/ScriptResource.axd – 8 times
2)	/en/Erro.aspx – 2 times
3)	/Error.aspx – 2 times

Can I delete the repetitive ones? Or is it critical to keep all as is for
load testing purposes?

Hi Prostak,
I see the same when recording a SharePoint-site.
If I replay the recorded axd-files the response data seems to be empty
(Response code 204, No content).

If I add a View Results Tree to the HTTP Proxy Server and start recording I
do see different reponses for both the axd-files. One contains functions for
the menu and the other contains functions for the WebForm.

Hope that this helps to get insight.

kind Regards,
Sander

I cannot make a well founded comment on that. When in doubt, you may
have to closely observe the application under test. Visit the tested
pages with your browser, inspect the page source code and find out why
there are as many requests as there are.

I try to have unique names for all Samplers. But then, I don't use the
proxy anymore and add all Samplers manually, anyway. Renaming a complex
recorded plan can be rather daunting.

Cheers,
Felix

As you suggested, I looked at it in "Request" tab through View Results Tree
Listener. What it shows doesn't make any sense to me. Should I just compare
the size in the first tab ("Sampler result") and if it is different I would
assume that it is needed?

The other problem with numerous same requests, they are getting combined by
the Listener. Pls see attached. Should I just change the name to avoid such
piling ups?

If it is your browser doing the request, you can try Firefox with the
LiveHTTPHeaders plugin. This will show you exactly what the requests
are, with all gory HTTP details.

When you replay the recorded plan with Jmeter, you can compare the
requests using the View Results Tree Listener, it has a "Request" tab.

If any browser does 10 requests during a page load, Jmeter should do the
same, generally speaking. Otherwise, your testing load may be understated.

I am doing performance testing (trying to see the average response time).

I don't know if they are identical or not.

I don't know what their purpose is.

Should I keep them? Or should I delete them as they will not effect the
performance results much?

Depends on what the test is trying to achieve ... and whether the
requests really are identical or not.

If it is simulating a browser that has been set to cache content, then
you can try adding an HTTP Cache Manager (and keep the extra samples).

Thanks Felix and Sander. Then I will keep the same files and rename them for
listening purposes.
