When put a pom.xml on the root folder of an project then remove the nbproject folder the NetBeans continues recognizing the project as the previous format until the PC is rstarted. This can be corrected renaming the root folde and renaming the project. My expectancy is that the project be recognized as a Maven project imediately or after it be reopened.
