[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-14671) NumberFormatException on ZK Status page when client port missing in dynamic config

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-14671?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17166306#comment-17166306 ]

Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-14671:
------------------------------------

So I guess your config is a mix of old and new as discussed here [https://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.6.1/zookeeperReconfig.html#sc_reconfig_backward] - you specify {{clientPort}} the old way in zoo.cfg, but not in the {{server.x}} lines. Then this back-compat behavior is triggered in ZK:
{quote}During boot, a dynamic configuration file is created and contains the dynamic part of the configuration as explained earlier. In this case, however, the line "clientPort=2791" will remain in the static configuration file of server 1 since it is not redundant – it was not specified as part of the "server.1=..." using the format explained in the section Changes to Configuration Format. If a reconfiguration is invoked that sets the client port of server 1, we remove "clientPort=2791" from the static configuration file (the dynamic file now contain this information as part of the specification of server 1).
{quote}
We were not prepared for that scenario, but the PR tries to handle this case now, although it is a weird mix between static and dynamic config. You could try to issue a dynamic reconfiguration event to your ZK, and have ZK rewrite the config files - in which case the ZK Status page would probably start working with Solr 8.6.0.
