SVN migration
Just wondering if the Tapestry community have any thoughts on a
migration to Subversion?
Same question for Hivemind, which I assume is still very tied
community-wise to Tapestry, though I can take the question to the
hivemind-dev list happily.
I'm aiming to get Jakarta migrated over to Subversion this quarter and
this email is intended to nudge the start of the Tapestry and Hivemind
migrations. The process seems pretty easy, though I'm not finished on
my first one (jakarta-regexp):
http://www.apache.org/dev/cvs2svn.html
Alternatively, I'm looking to hear the problems with the idea of a
migration to SVN so I can get the Infrastructure guys to deal with
them.
Thanks,
Hen

I tried Subclipse recently and it did the basics fine (much better
than when I last tried it 6 months or a year ago).
I've never trusted WinCVS or Eclipse to do tagging and branching
anyway, so no idea on how well Subclipse can do them :) I admin CVS at
work and have had too many times when WinCVS or Eclipse, or the user
for all I know :), did something 'odd'.

+0 I have not tried the Eclipse SVN plugin, but that is an important
aspect for me. So if that's shaky I would rather stay with CVS for
now.

+0 I think its a good idea, but the Eclipse SVN support is still a bit
shakey and that's what I use day to day. I don't relish the idea of
doing branches and merges (in the SVN sense) from the command line.

+1 for Tapestry and HiveMind SVN conversion. I don't see any hurdles
for doing so.
