MSVC 5.0 is a very old product; it doesn't surprise me that Xerces-C is unable 
to compile with it.  You may wish to try 2.4 though; there were a few fixes 
applied after 2.3 that could, conceivably, help to remedy the situation.

Oh, by the way:  In future, you may wish to consider trying to translate your 
compiler's error output; not many (if any) of Xerces's developers are fluent in 
German.
