Does `jclouds/jclouds` become a link automatically? If not, add it?

I had doubts... This README will be "officially" hosted in the ASF repo... Perhaps replacing the raw links with some more helpful text instead, hiding the "real" link?

Hm. What about 1.7.x and older branches? If we do not intend to support those any more, we should probably say so. Otherwise, would it be better if the message were something like:
"This repository contains code for old (1.7.x and previous) releases of jclouds-chef. As per jclouds 1.8.0, the chef API and providers have been migrated to jclouds/jclouds. Please refer to the appropriate modules there and submit contributions against that repository."
? With links to the appropriate places in jclouds/jclouds, obviously.

Any reason for mentioning the ASF repos here? Most users won't see them anyway, and I wonder if they could get confused?

Well, but we're not saying that GitHub is the "official home" for the modules...just that people wishing to contribute changes should open PRs there. We can add a sentence that explains that to clarify, if you prefer..?
