The Drill JDBC driver doesnt return metadata such as schemas , tables to the client applications today. So the only way to query through JDBC is by submitting an explicit query.
This is a tracking bug to implement the metadata functions in JDBC.
This is a critical issue which otherwise blocks experience in using Drill with any JDBC compliant tool.
