Hello,
Is there a specific mailing list for servlet somewhere ?
tomcat-user is cool, but too large for me :o).
Thanks.

DIGEST mode rules!
You can subscribe to any of the lists at java.sun.com in any of a number
of modes, including, most importantly, DIGEST, which sends you 1 (one)
mail a day. The lists that are most likely of interest to tomcat-users
are:
- servlet-interest
- jsp-interest
but there are others too. You can check them all at
http://archives.java.sun.com, which also provides a web access to the
archives. JSP-interest and servlet-interest are the two active lists
with largest membership.

You could try the SERVLET-INTEREST list at JAVA.SUN.COM (start at
<http://java.sun.com/products/servlet> and follow the instructions for
subscription), but be warned -- it has even more messages than TOMCAT-USER
does!
To deal with the email volume issue, I use a mail reader (Netscape
communicator) that automatically files my messages into a separate folder for
each mailing list, and then set my view of each folder to sort "by thread" so
I can see if anyone has already responded to questions. That way, mailing
list traffic does not flood my inbox.

getting started
Posted by Osvaldo Brito <os...@gauss.inesc.pt>.
Hi, i've just installed the tomcat as standalone and for that did this
way:
setenv TOMCAT_HOME /path/to/jakarta-tomcat
setenv JAVA_HOME /path/to/jdk
and in the .cshrc i've changed a line to
set path=(/path/to/jdk/bin $path)
When i try to start the tomcat engine whith startup.sh, after some while i
get this message,
Internal error.
Please check your CLASSPATH and your installation.
Exception thrown wa of type `java/io/IOExecption
Message was `Bad file descriptor
Anyone?
Thanks in advance.
