[jira] Created: (CONTINUUM-2080) Multiple addresses for Notifier or create Notifiers Groups

Multiple addresses for Notifier or create Notifiers Groups
----------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: CONTINUUM-2080
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CONTINUUM-2080
             Project: Continuum
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: Notifier - Mail, Web - UI
    Affects Versions: 1.3.x
            Reporter: Jose Morales Martinez
            Priority: Minor

Allow multiple e-mails in a Notifier. Would be some emails separated by ',' o ';'. Continuum will send a mail to each email address of the list.

Another option would to allow groups of notifiers. In this way the group would be formed by a set of emails, which would share the events an in the future shre the email manager [CONTINUUM-1910].

Sorry, but maybe I have not explained. Currently, Continuum extends Notifier settings Maven adding addresses in the attribute 'Configuration'.

Example: address -> user@domain and commiters = true/false

My proposal is to modify this to allow multiple email address. In 'configuration' could be something like:

address -> user@domain, user2@domain2 ....
commiters -> true

or

Address1 -> user1@domain
address2 -> user2@domain
...

or

group_id -> (Id for notifierGroup)
commiters = true

Exactly, this is a substitute for MailingLists. It was just a suggestion, but if you think the mailing list is sufficient, you can close the issue.

It is also possible to configure notifiers in the pom, so the two methods need to be aligned. If you're going to allow multiple addresses in the Web UI, how do I do it in the pom?

I initially don't like overloading the 'address' field with an arbitrary separator, but wouldn't object if others want it.

No objection to this as a feature request, just make sure to update the docs too. :)

(The usual way this is done is by sending notifications to a mailing list, to which multiple interested recipients subscribe.)

The notifier is defined by the Maven pom schema, which defines an 'address' field. Interestingly... the 'address' field is deprecated:
http://maven.apache.org/ref/2.0.8/maven-model/maven.html#class_notifier

Does Continuum support the new 'configuration' element already?

Do we need a new notifier type, that supports multiple addresses in 'configuration'?
