I'm seeing a similar sort of build error in Eclipse. Any suggestions as to
how we resolve this?

It looks like MVNECLIPSE 0.7 resolves this problem.
In Eclipse choose:
Help -> Software -> Manage Configuration -> Maven 2.0 integration and then
click scan for updates :)
