Unlock on startup

Hi All,
I am having to test solr indexing quite a bit on my local and dev environments. I had the

<unlockOnStartup>true</unlockOnStartup>.

But restarting my server still doesn't seem to remove the writelock file. Is there some other configuration that I might have to do get this fixed.

My Configurations :

Solr 1.3 on Windows xp(local) and RHL on dev box.
Jboss 4.05

Regards
Sundar

Try:

<lockType>single</lockType>

Nope I dont see any error logs when my Jboss starts up. I havent added solr classes to my log4j.xml though. Should I add them and try again?

What does <locktype>single</locktype> do, btw? Do i need to use this in conjunction with <unlockonstartup> or do i use it separately??

: What does <locktype>single</locktype> do, btw?

As with most config options in solr, the best place to find an explanation
is in the example solrconfig.xml. It refers the the Lucene LockFactory
thta should be used

: Do i need to use this in conjunction with <unlockonstartup> or do i use it separately??

unlockOnStartup is orthoginal to the locktype, but with a locktype of
"single" or "none" it becomes meaningless.

If you specify <locktype>single</locktype>,
write.lock will never be created, so <unlockOnStartup/> makes no sense.

We just dealt with this same exact problem on our servers and I am
positive our last sync with 1.3 was after the 12th. We had to delete
and rebuild both our indexes on our servers today in fact. If it is
fixed, it does not work for us either.
