> I you source the default {{bin/impala-config.sh}} it sets {{HIVE_HOME}}  to ${{CDH_COMPONENTS_HOME/hive-$IMPALA_HIVE_VERSION}} directory which doesn't exist. I think we should always use TOOLCHAIN to set up HIVE_HOME since thirdparty directory does not contain hive binaries anymore.
