Issue tracker silly fields: URL

I
tend to find the metadata fields less than useful in general. What's
the point of a "URL" field? A bug report may have a couple of example
repositories whose URLs could be referenced, a couple of email threads
each archived at three different archives whose URLs could be
referenced, a couple of patches stored off-site whose URLs could be
referenced. Why provide a place that says "you can enter a URL here"? It's stupid, in my not-so-humble opinion.
