Hi, Victor Hugo, I would prefer that you end the acounting spanish translation, because I actually don't have any accounting translation since I use to work with ofbizNeogia, that have a different accounting application. I want to end the other part of the transalation and make a review of it with you help since Spanish is your native language as well as mine.
Hopefully Tomorrow nigth I will Upload the translation files and soon we might have a weekly update with spanish on it.

PS: Jaques if you know an issue that needs help (I don't mean translation or documentation help only ), please let me know, I use to work a lot with ofbizNeogia (work on a Consultant company with ofbizNeogia around 6 months) and now I'm working on another place with Oracle EBS, but I will take some time to contribute with ofbiz.

Hi people, I will upload the files with the ASL header on sunday morning, but if you feel like you want to try the translation files, you can do it too, I don't mind at all.
Si, please tell me if you need a different header on the financials and CRM files.

I understand that this file replaces existing one. But like Si I'd prefer to be sure that nobody has changed this file between. Please Victor Hugo are you sure we can just replace the existing file in svn by your new one ? For future please create patches, it's really reassuring for us. Even now though, it's not to difficult to do and we will be sure that we lose nothing...

Finally, this is my last version of the translations files, I included the ASL2 headers, corrected some translations, include some other translation files that i miss before and make the patch for it. Quite nice ah... anyhow, there you have. If there's any problem with this please let me now.

I beginned so I continue. But it would have been much easier if you had only submitted one and only patch. I got a lot of conflicts when applying the last patch. Actually only 5 files are not conflicted. I used Tortoise "Apply Patch" which itself uses svn Merge so I had to commit your first changes and was trapped.

I just took a peek at these files. First, it's great to finally have a comprehensive Spanish translation!
One little issue though: these files need to have an ASL2 license header in them. In fact, no files should be added to the repository without this any more.

I had to slightly modified the updateTranslations.bat (I mostly use WIndows at the moment) for base now in Framework and rem copy before the lines (this files do not exist in your zip, of course : Victor Hugo is working on them)
AccountingUiLabels_es.properties ..\..\applications\accounting\config
AccountingEntityLabels_es.properties ..\..\applications\accounting\config
Another point : this files are not in OFBiz but in Opentaps. Please if an Opentaps commiters can add this file...

I had a question, when you place the translation on a revision, does that means that the opentaps demo or the e-commerce ofbiz demo, is update on the weekly updates?
One more thing, I've never created a patch for a translation files, how do I do that? or it's just the new version of the files?

ok, this it's my first release of the translations, I would really like to take another look so I will make another release on sunday maybe.
About the file, As you well now, doesn't have a accounting translation.
You have to unzip the file on the {OFBiz_HOME} and it will create {OFBiz_HOME}/translation/es/
There you can find two excecutable files a '.bat' and a '.sh', so you can use any of those to auto-copy the files in the folder to they belong :p .
Please take a look to it.

About the translations that are not in the default language, it's because the translations files from neogia (french brach of ofbiz) has made several changes in the application, especially in accounting where they make a "new" accounting application different from the one ofbiz has, so I recommend you not to do all the translations unless you also want to contribute with neogia. I must say that in the translations files that I made I remove the translations that were not on the default language since it was "a lot" of extra work.

I did not find any other instance of AccountingQuantity in all OFBiz files (hence no use at all). But I found 15 in Neogia. So I conclude that this exemple is surely not the only one in french properties files in OFBiz.
In general I'd say that as default (English) is the most OFBiz used language we should take it as reference. Of course in some cases this will not be true...

I'm not death just a litle busy :-) .
I continue working on the Accountig component translation and now I have a 50% of advance, Jacques please give me 3 days before to close this issue to post the my finished and final contribution, of course considering all your previous observations (ASL2, Format, etc.).
Now I've all the necesary tools to work faster with the Eclipse IDE, Subclipse and RBE, before I was workig only with VIM as a plain text editor.
Only last one question, I saw en RBE many entries wich doesn't have entries within the default english translation file and yes for other languages like french (for instance AccountingQuantity), are they an error with the default english file or translated files? I suppose they are old and removed entries wich still remains in translated files and i can ommit them, is it true?

You put your name and email just under the ASL2 header. I'm not sure it's a good practise (a PMC member may be helpful here). When I recently updated french properties files we agreed with Neogia people (Peter exactly ;o) to suppress such things (both theirs and mine were in). Do you really want to keep them ?
You used some RBE options that I have experienced are no good except if you were sure that this options will always be used (which is not sure as not everybody is using *and will be using RBE in the future*...)
. align equal signs : because if you add a new label longuer than existing ones you will get a lot of false modifications
. blank around equal signs : same problem than above
Apart these notes, it seems OK to me (but I don't know Spanish ;o)

Sorry, I had uploaded the wrong file, the correct file is the "AccountingUiLabels_es.properties" now attached, it contains these new entries and has an aproximate advance of 30%, not yet contains Unicode values for special characters but by the moment I'm trying to finish and checking correctness within the accountig context because i'm not specialists in accounting.

In general all patches submitted with new files and all new files attached to an issue should have the ASL header in place to make it clear. We should make a practice of rejecting new files without the header and just ask the contributor to re-submit the patch with the proper header, explaining where they can get it and such (ie the APACHE2_HEADERS file).
Still, that practice is really mostly an extra precaution type of thing and while it clarifies things I don't think it's totally necessary, so in a case like this where the contributor has acknowledged that it will be ASL2 licensed, we can just throw in the header.

I'm not sure of what you mean when you say "next patch could be apply after translation_es_v2 only, and discard the translation_es.patch file. ". As I explained above I applied these patches one after the other resolving conflicts. They are in OFBiz since rev 434047. After that I noticed that something went wrong during resolution of conflicts and that the 3 files above were missing (actually they were badly merged by Tortoise, I had to manually clean them a little). These 3 files are now in OFBiz since rev 434410. Please update your working copy (or check out a special working copy if needed) from svn so that we work on the same trunk.
Something to be said : when I manuallly resolved the conflicts I noticed that these was mostly about headers and blank lines. So I repeatedly choose an option in Tortoise "Apply patch" that's let you use one whole file to resolve conflicts. So actually the files that were commited in rev 434047 were mostly complete files from translation_es_v2.patch.

For the ASL2 header: all files should have them, ie you should be able to look at any .properties file; if you run into any that don't have a header please let us know; you can also find the standard headers for the project in the APACHE2_HEADER file.
For crmsfa and financials modules: those are owned by Open Source Strategies and I think they use the opentaps issue tracker on SourceForge for those. Si Chen could answer better (you can contact him pretty easily through the OFBiz mailing lists, or the opentaps stuff. He'll probably see this message though as he is an active OFBiz contributor.

Just to remark something that I should have done before, the translation_es_v2.path it's a replacement for translation_es.patch, I belive that that wasn't clear so that's why there's a conflict, sorry about that.
As you now, I'm kind of new on this patch stuff because when I use to work with neogia, I had my own versión of the software and my modifications where very specific, it would be a great help for me if you could advice me about how to publish my patch files so we can avoid the conflicts between them.

(Maybe we should have a link to that on JIRA?)
I will update the opentaps demo to include your translations.

It's OK, just 2 points.
1)
Subclipse command "Team->Create Patch" creates patches with absolute pathes.
ie :
we need
applications/accounting/config/AccountingUiLabels_es.properties
and not
C:/Documents and Settings/PSIPACRN/Mis documentos/My Projects/ofbiz/applications/accounting/config/AccountingUiLabels_es.properties
2)
It's easier for us (specially for me, I use Tortoise on Windows) to patch with files suffixed by .patch
