[jira] Created: (BEEHIVE-538) netui-data:callMethod gives error message

netui-data:callMethod gives error message
-----------------------------------------

         Key: BEEHIVE-538
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEEHIVE-538
     Project: Beehive
        Type: Test
  Components: NetUI
    Versions: V1Beta
 Environment: Windows XP; JDK1.5, Tomcat 5.0.28
    Reporter: V.Gnanasegaran
    Priority: Critical

Pleace see the two code syntax to call a method in the page flow.

1) <netui-data:callPageFlow method="getPageName" resultId="currentPagename"/>

2) <netui-data:callMethod object="{pageFlow}" method="getPageName" resultId="currentPagename"/>

The syntax 1) executes and the result is kept in the pagecontext. The method in the Controller.jpf
which has no input parameters and returns a string.

	public String getPageName(){
		return "index";
        }

When I execute syntax 2) I get the following error.
"Could not find operation "getPageName" with 0 parameter(s) on the referenced object".

In my openion the two methods should do the same. Is it a bug or is it some thing to do with an error in syntax.

regards,
Segar

[jira] Resolved: (BEEHIVE-538) netui-data:callMethod gives error message

Posted by "Eddie O'Neil (JIRA)" <be...@incubator.apache.org>.
     [ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEEHIVE-538?page=all ]

Eddie O'Neil resolved BEEHIVE-538:
----------------------------------

      Assign To: Nathan Jantz
     Resolution: Invalid
    Fix Version: V1

Resolving this bug; there is a test of calling methods on ${pageFlow} here:

http://svn.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/incubator/beehive/trunk/netui/test/webapps/drt/coreWeb/databinding/callMethod/callMethod/index.jsp?view=markup

If you see any further problems with this, don't hesitate to file a JIRA issue.

[jira] Commented: (BEEHIVE-538) netui-data:callMethod gives error message

Posted by "Eddie O'Neil (JIRA)" <be...@incubator.apache.org>.
     [ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEEHIVE-538?page=comments#action_63288 ]

Eddie O'Neil commented on BEEHIVE-538:
--------------------------------------

Quick question -- is the repro above *exactly* as it was when the problem surfaced?

If it is, the second case should look like:

  <netui-data:callMethod object="${pageFlow}" method="getPageName" resultId="currentPagename"/>

where there is a JSP 2.0 expression like "${pageFlow}" for the callMethod's "object" attribute. This will cause the current page flow object to be reflected upon. Otherwise, the String "{pageFlow}" will be used to lookup the "getPageName" method.

I agree that the two tags should work the same given the tweak to the callMethod tag above.
