[jira] [Resolved] (AMBARI-12941) Test connection fails if empy
password is given for ranger DB root password
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-12941?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]
Yusaku Sako resolved AMBARI-12941.
----------------------------------
Resolution: Not A Problem
* UI should not be and is not trimming passwords; the password field should be passed verbatim.
* UI requires all password fields to be entered. This means that "no password" is not a valid configuration and Ambari does not support it (at least through the UI). No one should be setting DB credentials without passwords, so there isn't really a need to allow this.
I'm closing this as Not a Problem.
