[jira] [Resolved] (HBASE-3960) Add dump/load to the HBase shell

stack resolved HBASE-3960.
--------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

Resolving as 'nice-to-have' that is not specific enough and without an owner. It looks like shell would have to take lots of options around dump and load -- the same as we currently have on the import/export tool. Also, launching mapreduce from shell is not on.

> From the mailing list:
> That would be a real nice feature though, imagine going to the shell,
> and requesting a dump of your table.
> > load into outfile/hdfs '/tmp/table_a' from table_a
> Or something similar.
> > load from outfile/hdfs -- could power bulk uploader
> Further discussion suggested that for large tables, the commands should launch a MR job (assuming a JobTracker is available).
