Speaking about this list of committers / contributors, I added the list to
make people aware we are grateful about their contribution, but now I'm not
sure it's a good place to have it.
I like the community page of wicket:

Maybe we could do something like that, either on the mailing list page
(renaming the page to community) or on a separate page (to put just the
committers and contributors list, as they did, with some information about
committers and a list in a table for contributors (to avoid a too long
list). I think this can help people feel interested about the community.
For committers, we could put the fullname, timezone, and email. And maybe a
small picture, to seem a little bit more human?
