RedHat RPMs

Hello all,

I have been following this list for quite awhile but it is possible I
missed this somewhere along the way. Is anybody still maintaining the
RPMs at http://summersoft.fay.ar.us/pub/subversion/latest/ anymore? All
flavors of RedHat appear to be stalled at version 1.0.6.

If this is the case is anybody out there building 'official' RPMs for
subversion? We are currently running subversion off White Box Linux. 3.0.

Thanks,
Stan

Yes, that's true, and I would certainly recommend that people use their
distro's "official" build if possible. Unfortunately, Red Hat has a very
conservative RPM upgrade policy (they backport security fixes but don't
upgrade to new versions within a particular Red Hat release).

But, the RPM repository the original poster referred to was the one
linked on the Subversion site's "download" page. People often wrongly
assume that because they're linked from the Subversion site, that those
other builds are "official" in that they are released by the Subversion
team, which is not the case.

Well, a Red Hat package built by the Red Hat guys would be "official" in
some sense.

Note however that there are no "official" builds for Red Hat or any
other platform. The only "official" release is the source tarball and
people build and publish it afterwards.
