[jira] [Created] (SPARK-51583) Improve error message when to_timestamp function has arguments of wrong type
Mihailo Aleksic created SPARK-51583:
---------------------------------------
Summary: Improve error message when to_timestamp function has arguments of wrong type
Key: SPARK-51583
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-51583
Project: Spark
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: SQL
Affects Versions: 4.1.0
Reporter: Mihailo Aleksic
Per docs, to_timestamp mandatory argument should be of String type. When it's not we throw an internal error but we should throw a user facing one.
