[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-10989) LDAP Server for IAM PoC

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-10989?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15148792#comment-15148792 ]

Sam Ruby commented on INFRA-10989:
----------------------------------

I may not be understanding the request.

If you need a dedicated LDAP server, install slapd on your VM when it is available. The workflow for doing such can be found here: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INFRA/Git+workflow+for+infrastructure-puppet+repo

If you need access to the ASF LDAP servers, you can find the necessary ldapclient::ldapcert and ldapserver::slapd_peers information here: https://github.com/apache/infrastructure-puppet/blob/deployment/data/common.yaml

> As the ASF uses a LDAP server, we need to have one available for the PoC to replicate the infrastructure and for building the experience and environmental requirements.
> The question to answer is the following:
> do we need to have the same kind of server as currently is in production, accompanied with the settings currently in place, or can we suffice with a downscaled setup?
> The downscaled setup can be based on
> * the solution currently used by the ASF
> * Apache Directory Server
