ErrorDocument directive

I'm trying to use the plain text version of the ErrorDocument directive.
But I keep getting the default ErrorDocument.

I'm trying

ErrorDocument 404 "Bad file"

as an example.

Tks,
Dwayne

Apache and ASP

Whats the easiest way to get apache 1.3.24 to run ASP?
(Link? :) )
Is it all that popular? Im thinking of opening a simple hosting business and
would like to offer it
if it's a popular item.

Thanks !

Take it someplace else please. Pointing out a specific design flaw in one
piece of software should not start a thread listing problems in every
other similar piece of software.

Netscape flaw exposes hard drives

The bug is found in versions of Mozilla from 0.9.7 to 0.9.9 on various
operating system platforms, and in Netscape versions 6.1 and higher.
The flaw doesn't affect Mozilla 1.0 release candidate 1 because
XMLHttpRequest appears to be broken in that release, according to
Mozilla developers.

Then you are not putting the ErrorDocument in the right context in the
config file, or you are not restarting the server after changing your
config file. Also, in Apache 1.3, the text message should not have a
trailing quote, while in 2.0 it should.

The default Apache error document. I using Mozilla, so it is not the
'Pretty Error Messages' that IE produces.

When you say "default ErrorDocument", do you mean you get MSIE's
"friendly" error message, or do you mean that you get Apache's default
error document? MSIE substitutes it's own message when the error output
is "too small", which essentially makes it impossible to send simple text
error messages to MSIE clients. Bad Microsoft!
