   It actually looks like a miscompile by GCC 8.2.1, at least with the one from devtoolset-8.
   GCC 7.3.1 from devtoolset-7 gives the same error.
   Compiling it with the EL7.6 stock GCC 4.8.5 does not cause segfaults.
