JIRA deletions?

Is there a reason that CLOSED bugs are being deleted from JIRA? This will
mess up some history I imagine, especially since some of the relate to Maven
core anyway.

Deleting what I think can go, most stuff I'm moving but that doesn't
appear to be showing up. I'm also not sure if a move shows up as a
delete either.

I'm just ploughing through everything, if I lose a couple things I'm not
too worried.
