Out of memory exception

I get an out of memory exception when trying to restore 40 nodes
(approximately) in a loop.  I have created a jira issue
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JCR-2902 with a sample project
that outlines the problem.  Has anyone else run into memory constraints
when restoring nodes?  I get the oom whenever I run less than 512m.
