Tree2, selected node focus

I'm using tree2 to render some data and am programmatically selecting nodes.  Is there a way to have the node that is selected be in focus in the browser?  I'm looking for something like an html textarea, where if you select a value in the textarea via javascript the browser will autoscroll the textarea to show the selected value.
