I need to configure a pop user and password in James Mail Server which I will

Thanks,

Re: POP Accounts---Adding folders

Posted by joni santoso <st...@plasa.com>.
So how to do that using IMAP? Should I use JavaMail or
James API?

Any example on this? What are the differences from folders
created by a user in one's MS Outlook?

Btw, I also wonder if I could add users, change the
passwords, and do some administrative works (adding
specific footers for specific users, blocking emails sent
to specific users, etc) programatically. If yes, What
should I use?

No POP doesn't provide for folders. Only IMAP does that.

POP Accounts---Adding folders

Posted by "Mr. King" <ki...@yahoo.com>.
Dear Friends,

I am trying to configure POP Accounts in my James mail server.
My James mail server is providing emailing facility for two domains e.g.
abc.com and xyz.com
So we can consider two email accounts james@abc.com and peter@xyz.com

Currently I have created these two email accounts in config.xml file under
transport mailet tag. as following...

<mailet match="RecipientIs=james@abc.com" class="ToRepository">
  <repositoryPath>
    file:///Hostings/Mails/abc_com/james/inbox/
  </repositoryPath>
  <passThrough> false </passThrough>
</mailet>

and

<mailet match="RecipientIs=peter@xyz.com" class="ToRepository">
  <repositoryPath>
    file:///Hostings/Mails/xyz_com/peter/inbox/
  </repositoryPath>
  <passThrough> false </passThrough>
</mailet>

The emails are received by the James mail server and are being put in the
folders as mentioned in reportorypath tag.

Now I need to create user accounts for POP download of these emails which I do
by doing telnet myserver 4555.
The problem here is that how do I assign these two folders as repositories for
these email accounts for POP download when I create them using remote manager.

When I run the command "user <repositoryname>" then how do I tell that which
user this repository is to be assigned and also even if I give the path of the
repository as I have given in <mailet><repository> tag of config file, it says
that repository does not exists.

I think I have written a long mail trying to explain my exact problem now if
you think you have time and solution, please write it to me. I will be
thankful.

 Sincerely
-RDX

<inboxRepository>

will AUTOMATICALLY put each users repository in "$JAMES_HOME/apps/james/var/mail/arushigarg_com/arushi/inbox/<username>"

Re: POP Accounts

Posted by "Mr. King" <ki...@yahoo.com>.
It looks that it will work but i have one more confusion, that how we give name
to a repository. The repository tag i have in config.xml as below

      <inboxRepository>
         <repository
destinationURL="file://var/mail/arushigarg_com/arushi/inbox" type="MAIL"/>
      </inboxRepository>

Beucase any user created by james remote administration will need repository
assigned to a user.

I hope i could explain what confusion i have.

Thanks very much!
