[Bug 63717] Meaning of _default_ seems to have changed in 2.4, yet not reflected in documentation

https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=63717

Rich Bowen <rb...@apache.org> changed:

           What |Removed |Added
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
             Status|NEW |RESOLVED
         Resolution|--- |INVALID

--- Comment #3 from Rich Bowen <rb...@apache.org> ---
The behavior of _default_ and * did not change between 2.2 and 2.4. The change
to the doc was made because there was a lot of misleading stuff on various
third-party websites about how _default_ was treated, and I was trying to
clarify that it is simply an alias for *, with * being the preferred syntax
(mostly just because it's shorter).

So, I could, I suppose, support removing _default_ if someone felt strongly
about it, but I like leaving it in because it's valid syntax, and the docs are
intended to be exhaustive while recommending best-practice.
